Allegation investigated: Staff do not provide food of good quality

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Daiquiri Boyd made an unannounced visit to the Resident Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) and met with staff, who then called Administrator, Teresa Long. LPA was greeted by facility staff and was granted entrance into the faciity. Residents were in their rooms and watching television in the living room and some had just finished breakfast. LPA toured the faciity and interviewed Administrator and resident. LPA looked at food supply and found it to be in good and sufficient supply and of good quality. Hot pasta lunch and a salad was currently being provided for lunch this day. During this visit LPA delivered investigation findings regarding the above allegations. The Department has investigated the complaint alleging: staff do not provide food of good quality. Based on the interviews conducted and/or observation the above allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED. Allegation investigated: Staff inapproproriately threw resident's medication away Staff did not ensure resident received all their belongings

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Daiquiri Boyd conducted the complaint investigation visit to the facility. During the course of this investigation LPA reviewed facility files relevant to the complaint investigation. It was determined that the above allegations: staff inappropriately threw resident's medication away and staff did not ensure resident received all their belongings, are UNFOUNDED. Administrator disposed of two days of medications after being notified the resident was not returning to the facility. LPA observed all of residents belongings on their bed, awaiting family to retreive them. This agency has investigated the complaint alleging that staff inappropriately threw resident's medication awar and staff did not ensure resident received all their belongings. During the course of this investigation LPA reviewed facility files relevant to the complaint investigation. It was determined that the above allegations: Staff is not allowing resident to be re-admitted to the facility, staff does not ensure adequate care and supervision is being provided to resident, and staff does not ensure resident special diet is being followed, are UNFOUNDED. Resident's son made the decision to move his father to another facility. Resident was adequately watched, but resident refused to follow his diet. Staff followed all protocols where resident's diet was concerned and monitored. This agency has investigated the complaint alleging that staff is not allowing resident to be re-admitted to the facility, staff does not ensure adequate care and supervision is being provided to resident, and staff does not ensure resident special diet is being followed. Allegation investigated: Staff do not provide residents enough food to meet their needs

On 10/20/23 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) V Gorban visited the facility stated above to deliver findings. LPA met with Assistant Administrator Jay Cee Sanderson, explained the purpose of the visit. LPA toured facility inside and out, observed clients in care and discussed finding to allegation. Allegation: Staff do not provide residents enough food to meet their needs During this investigation LPA interviewed facility staff, residents, and responsible party. During interview residents stated that the facility provides substantial amounts of food to residents at all times. During this investigation LPA reviewed facility files. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is Unsubstantiated.
