About Covelight Care

Who runs this site, why it’s free, and exactly how it’s paid for.

Who runs Covelight Care?

Covelight Care is run by Nicholas Wilson, its founder and only operator. He built the site and the data pipelines behind it and maintains both; there is no staff and no sales team, so questions, complaints, and corrections go to him directly at hello@covelightcare.com. Everything displayed here is drawn from California’s public licensing records — the sources, refresh dates, and method are documented field-by-field on the methodology page.

Why is Covelight Care free?

The records here are California’s own public licensing data, and families should never have to pay, register, or hand over a phone number to read them — so every record page, every county and city directory, and every license check is free, with no account and no ads. Keeping the full record free is also how the business works: families who can verify everything themselves are the ones who choose to ask us for placement help.

How does Covelight Care make money?

Homes never pay to be listed and cannot pay to look better. Larger homes pay a standard fee only when a family we introduce moves in. Directory listings are alphabetical; match results are ordered by fit alone. Payment never affects either — or any fact we show. That is the entire model. The fee is disclosed to the family up front, and we charge no fee where the law forbids one — including Medi-Cal/Assisted Living Waiver and SSI-rate placements.

What is Covelight Care not?

We are not a broker network, and we do not sell placement or leads. There are no paid listings, no “featured” homes, and no advertising; we never sell a family’s contact information, and a family’s details go only to the specific homes that family explicitly chose — that consent rule fails closed. Every licensed facility in California appears here on the same terms, with the same data, whether or not it ever pays us anything.

How do I contact Covelight Care?

Email hello@covelightcare.com for anything general. To report an error in a displayed record — operators and families alike — use the corrections process: it explains what to include, our 2-business-day acknowledgment commitment, and carries the public log of every correction made. To see where each fact comes from and when it was last refreshed, read how this works.

Covelight Care presents California public-record information and is not medical or legal advice. Facility data sources and refresh dates are listed on the methodology page.
