About Covelight Care
Most families choose a care home once, in a hurry, with a hospital waiting on an answer. This site exists so that the facts are already gathered when that week arrives. Reading them costs nothing and needs no account.
What this site is
A free, complete directory of every licensed elder-care home in California — the state calls them residential care facilities for the elderly, or RCFEs. Every licensed home has a page here, built from California Department of Social Services public records. A home is never left off because it declined to take part.
What orders the list
No home pays to appear here. Nothing on this page is ranked by quality, popularity or payment.
Directory pages are alphabetical. When you ask us for matches, the order comes only from what you told us about care, budget and place.
How this is paid for
Families never pay us anything. Searching, reading a record and asking us to confirm details are free. If a family asks for placement help and then chooses a home, that home pays a standard fee, disclosed to the family up front. Where the law forbids a fee — Medi-Cal, the Assisted Living Waiver, SSI-rate placements — we charge none.
No home can pay to appear here, to rank higher, or to soften its record. Every licensed home in California is listed on the same terms.
Where the facts come from
Every fact carries its source and the date it was last checked. Where the state record is silent, the page says “not on file” — never “no”. State findings are quoted in the state’s own words, dated, and never scored.
If something here is wrong
Tell us and we will check it against the state record and fix it. Corrections are free for everyone, and every fix is logged publicly.
