Corrections

Report an error in any displayed record — operator or family, free — and see every correction we have made.

What we promise when you report

  • Every report is acknowledged within 2 business days (the form acknowledges instantly, with a reference number).
  • A safety-consequential error — a care clearance, Medi-Cal participation, license status — stops displaying the disputed value the same business day it is confirmed as safety-critical, and is fixed within 2 business days of confirmation.
  • Everything else is resolved, or given a dated written status, within 10 business days.
  • If we decline a correction, you get the reasons in writing — including exactly what the state record showed and what evidence would change the outcome — and you may add a short statement of dispute that renders beside the record.
  • Every correction we publish is logged below, permanently.
  • We never charge anyone, for any reason, to correct the record.

How reports are classified

ClassCoversWhat happens
S1 — Safety-consequential factA displayed clearance or payment fact that could change a placement decision (dementia, hospice, bedridden, wheelchair, Medi-Cal waiver).Fail closed same day: the disputed fact stops displaying and shows "not on file — under review" until verified.
S2 — Identity or contact factName, address, phone, capacity, license status — wrong enough to misdirect a family.Verified against the state record within 5 business days; instant on a verified claimant.
S3 — Dispute of the state's own textAn operator disputes a citation, complaint narrative, or count that is the state’s record, not ours.A written dispute note renders beside the record within 5 business days; routed to CDSS within 2 — we never adjudicate the state’s text.
S4 — Cosmetic or non-consequentialFormatting, stale non-consequential details, typos.Batched into the weekly freshness pass.

What if a claim can’t be verified?

The fail-safe is fixed: if we cannot verify a claimed correction against the state record, we keep showing the state record and note the dispute on the affected page. We do not silently override public records on anyone’s word — an operator’s or our own. If you believe the state’s own record is wrong, raise it with CDSS Community Care Licensing as well; once the state’s record changes, our next weekly refresh picks it up, and we will re-check on request.

Operators: what can you do about your listing?

Respond or correct — free, always, no account needed. Use the form above with your license number, or email corrections@covelightcare.com; the same acknowledgment window applies either way. If a record is yours to dispute, we will also publish a short written statement from you alongside the record it concerns, so families see your side next to the state’s text. Reporting an error never affects how your home appears — listing here is never paid.

How fresh is the record you’re correcting?

State records are re-checked weekly. Last full state-record load: August 2, 2026. Last successful pipeline run: not on file. A missed week shows here as a stale date — we publish the cadence we actually honor. Sources and per-field refresh dates: methodology.

What corrections have been published?

Every correction we make to displayed facility data is logged here permanently — the date it was published, the license number, the field, and what changed — so anyone can audit how often we get things wrong and what we did about it. The log began in July 2026; 0 corrections published in 2026 · entries are never edited or removed — a wrong entry gets a new correcting entry of its own.

No corrections yet — the log began July 2026. When a correction is made, it appears here with its date, license number, field, and what changed.
